Highbury Square

Highbury, London

Developed on the site of Arsenal Football Club's former ground, this residential development comprised 4No reinforced concrete frames located on the footprint of Highbury Stadium.

Methods of construction included slipform cores, titan tables for the decking, rollmat reinforcement and precast columns. Built within a residential area; deliveries to site were strictly controlled; this, coupled with the large concrete volumes involved, lead to the decision to use an on-site batching plant for the supply of concrete.

The Highbury Square is the final phase of the redevelopment of the former home to Arsenal FC, Highbury stadium.

An early decision was taken to use a slip form system to construct the 14 critical cores
