Double Gold RoSPA Win

For the fourth year in a row, Byrne Bros. and Ellmer have scooped Gold awards in the prestigious RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards. The Gold Awards are recognition for the whole Byrne Group and its commitment to developing the highest standards of workplace health and safety.

Health and Safety culture across Byrne Group is based on sharedvalues and driven by the overriding aim to send every individual home safely each evening.

To allow our people to make safe behavioural choices, Byrne Group has implemented a behaviour based safety programme, Incident and Injury Free (IIF). We elevate everyone's awareness of safety by making it personal, relevant and important to every single individual, such that it influences everyone's choices and actions.

IIF saw the qualification of more than 2,600 people in the first 12 months, which has enabled us to achieve a consistent understanding of what is expected from a health and safety perspective. Each worker receives at least 25 days of health and safety training every year, a standard which puts The Byrne Group at the forefront of this critical area.

David Rawlins, RoSPA?s awards manager, said: ?Both Byrne Brothers and Ellmer have shown a commitment to protecting the health and wellbeing of its employees and others. Organisations which do this deserve to have such dedication recognised and that?s where the RoSPA Awards come in.?

Byrne Group will receive its awards at the Safety & Health Expo 2010, Europe?s leading annual health and safety exhibition and conferences.
