The fast-track projects commenced in January 2007, with completion in October ahead of the 2007 Christmas trading period.

Each store remained fully live and operational throughout the duration of works, which comprised:

• Total remodelling including a 20,000 sq ft extension to both stores.
• Redevelopment and remodelling of all sales and back-of-house support areas.
• Construction of new high specification Delicatessens, Cafés and Foodhalls.
• Works to the London Colney store also included the formation of a new mezzanine floor incorporating new customer facilities and a café revive.
