Chicago Mercantile Exchange

City of London

This Category B fit out for one of the world's leading electronic trading market place providers, was taken from shell and core on the fourth floor of One New Change (a new landmark building owned by Land Securities) and adopted a two stage approach to procurement.

Offices, meeting rooms, office services centres, t-points, rest rooms, cafe area, reception, client meeting and conference facilities were designed to match the existing office specification in Chicago and New York.

The high level of finishes comprised of two types of demountable partitioning systems, both framed and frameless to meet the requirements of ascetic appearance and acoustic requirements. A new metal pan suspended ceiling was installed throughout with feature ceiling formed in the meeting, conference and reception areas. The reception itself contained stone floor finishes with back painted glass feature walls which carried through the ceiling and floor to create a special light feature. Rosewood veneers concealed both coat cupboards and provided surrounds for audio visual equipment.

The reception desk was constructed in glass, stone and rosewood veneers

The cafe area provided breakout space for the business users with banquet seating, joinery units and feature floor finishes

The high level services installation with CDP elements were coordinated within the constraints of the ceiling void and comprised of sprinklers, four pipe fan coil units, fire alarm, modular wiring, BMS, lighting, ductwork, I.T and security.

The main computer room (120m2) and supplementary satellite equipment room housed the twenty-seven UPS supported I.T cabinets. Two down floor units within the room and condensers positioned at roof level provided dedicated cooling. Power was supplied to the input and output panels via two 400 amp breakers within the L.V switch room at basement level. The diverse power supplies for business critical support was controlled via an auto-change over switch within the room. The I.T cabinets and structured cabling was supplied and manufactured within the USA to a unique CME Group specification requirement.
