With BREEAM Excellent certification, the construction of 20 Farringdon Street allows for 8,000 sqm of office accommodation built over a single reinforced concrete waterproofed basement box.

The build also featured an architectural special finish reinforced concrete double-width staircase core and walls. One face of this core was within 200mm of an adjacent party wall. The floor heights also varied, and the staircase had to remain live to construction traffic throughout the course of the build. Faced with a small city centre, logistically challenging site, Byrne Bros used a proprietary self-climbing system with in house modifications to achieve the required finished.
