Byrne Bros. has constructed the deep two storey basement located just two meters from the site of the Crossrail tunnel, consisting of 900mm concrete walls to take the weight of the cantileverd pile caps required. Establishing an 'Early Logistics Centre' on the project and the installation of six tower cranes, contributed to three office cores containing four passenger lift banks, stairwells and goods lifts to be constructed to a tight programme.  Adopting the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for slipform cores, a technique developed jointly by Byrne Bros. and Bovis Lend Lease, has produced an exceptional quality finish and achieved excellence in health and safety performance.
