Byrne Group makes two senior appointments at Byrne Bros. and Ellmer Construction

Byrne Group has made two senior appointments at its Byrne Bros. and Ellmer Construction subsidiaries.

Alastair Smyth has been appointed Managing Director at Byrne Bros., the specialist concrete frame business, and Trevor Dillon has been appointed Managing Director at Ellmer Construction, the Group’s fit-out, refurbishment and new build specialist.

Alastair Smyth brings with him 25 years’ experience in the construction industry, having worked across the building and infrastructure sectors and held senior positions with major contractors, subcontractors and consultancies. Prior to joining Byrne Bros., he was a Managing Director at J Murphy and Sons, with responsibility for their Specialist Businesses and Engineering function.

Trevor Dillon has held senior executive and operational positions in the UK and overseas during a career spanning more than 23 years, including his most recent position as Executive Director at Tiber Construction in South Africa, where he oversaw operations for a group of companies offering traditional, design and build, and development services. He has extensive experience of managing the design and construction of complex commercial, industrial and residential contracts, and returns to Byrne Group where he was employed as an engineer some years ago.
