PETER JONES

SCOPE OF WORK

A heavy and long-term involvement was established in the total refurbishment of John Lewis' flagship Grade II Listed department store. The main refurbishment works were undertaken in three phases, where the store was divided into three zones. The two remaining areas of the store remained trading, whilst the works were completed.

The sequence of Ellmer's involvement is as follows:

November 1999 – Conversion of the Peter Jones warehouse into a retail facility.

November 2000 – Construction of the Kings Road link bridge.

July 2000 – Phase 1, internal soft strip of all floors in the central zone of the store. All builders work, concrete, fit-out and joinery to all floors in the zone.

October 2001 – Complete fit-out to create the sixth floor restaurant and second floor café areas.

June 2002 – Phase 2, works as phase 1.

August 2003 – Phase 3, works as phase 1 and 2.
