Byrne project teams have considerable experience of working in sensitive aviation environments. Aviation operations, whether on the ramp, taxiway or terminals, are fast paced and demanding in order to turn aircraft around for fuelling, cleaning, provisions, passenger loading and unloading. The level of governance and controls required to achieve this are unique to aviation. At Byrne Group we understand the complexity of the hazards present and the associated controls so that our projects fit and work within the airport environment. The key to successful projects in this environment is close liaison with the clients team through detailed planning and weekly meetings in order to discuss forthcoming changes that may have any influence on airport operations. We understand the restrictions and protocols for assessing, approving and implementing change in relation to: airlines and stand allocation traffic management (planes and road) live safety systems (fire signs / alarms and sprinklers) aircraft stand systems (signage, docking, FEGP, lighting and air bridges) passenger routes (external, internal, vertical and stacking) airport agents (airlines, handling agents, retail, baggage, cargo) engineering utility providers fuelling agents statutory/regulatory bodies (HMRC, Home Office, police, CAA & DfT) airport security protocols PAX information systems (FIDS, GIDS, gate desks, PA systems) A primary objective for our project teams is to ensure that the passengers, staff and agents at the airport are not exposed to any health and safety risks associated with our construction activities and the passenger experience is impacted no more than is acceptable to the airport management Team. We will tailor our project team and the project delivery strategy with due and full consideration to airside or landside (or both) constraints. Our people understand the restrictions that airside working imposes on all aspects of site activity. |
