We have established strong lines of communication and a culture of openness between management and the workforce because, quite simply, these are the essential keys to the minimisation of risk. Each business unit has a health and safety team covering every site, office and manufacturing unit, with a Safety Leadership team operating at Group level and within the individual business all with the objective of continuous improvement in health and safety performance.

Byrne Group is committed to achieving, and where possible, exceeding targets and standards set by the Government and the rest of the construction industry, Biometric facial recognition systems manage time, attendance, automated payroll and safety messaging to individuals.

Byrne Group operates and is committed to a behavioural safety programme known as IIF (Incident and Injury Free). Our intent is to change the culture at a 'hearts and minds' level and to nurture human responses within our workforce to keeping themselves and others safe.

Our commitment to health and safety extends beyond words, and into actions and behaviours. Byrne Group achieved accreditation to OHSAS 18001 in summer 2008, a standard which we are proud to hold because it focuses heavily on excellence in systems and processes, but is underpinned consistently with a clear focus on the health and welfare of our personnel.
